FAQ

If my school is attending multiple games in one day, do we have to leave the stadium?

No. Your class will be seated in the same section for the entire selected session, so students can remain in their seats and enjoy all games scheduled during that time period.

The Arena at TD Place has a range of accessibility features and services that can be viewed here. Please let us know in advance if your group requires additional accommodations by emailing schoolsprogram@ottawa2026.ca and we’ll be happy to assist.

Please notify us as soon as possible so we can offer your seats to another school group by emailing schoolsprogram@ottawa2026.ca.

Schools are responsible for their own transportation. Bus drop-off and pick-up zones are available near The Arena at TD Place.

Doors open 60 minutes before game time. We recommend arriving at least 30 minutes prior to ensure your group is seated before the first game begins

Bring Ottawa 2026 To Your classroom

Schools attending Ottawa 2026 receive access to our Schools Program to learn about wheelchair basketball ahead of the event.

This interactive, educational experience is designed to inspire inclusivity, promote active lifestyles and raise awareness about para sport. 20 sport wheelchairs are delivered to your school for an unforgettable hands-on session where students learn the fundamentals of wheelchair basketball and the values of inclusion, teamwork and resilience.

During a 90-minute* visit, students will:

  • Learn the basics of wheelchair basketball, including the rules, skills and equipment used in the sport. Students will gain an understanding of how wheelchair basketball is a sport where anyone—whether they have a disability or not—can participate.
  • Receive skill demonstrations, such as ball handling and chair maneuvering, showcasing the athleticism and adaptability of the sport.
  • Participate in an engaging game, giving them the chance to experience wheelchair basketball firsthand and play alongside their peers, regardless of ability.

Schools can host the program as a single gym class (ideal for Grades 6-12) or a full school assembly (ideal for elementary schools), ensuring that students of all abilities are included and encouraged to participate together.

We are also available to deliver the program to sports clubs, community groups, etc.

*The program can be adapted for longer or shorter sessions depending on class times and format.
